Anthony Men’s was founded in the fall of 1995 by Jorge Guzman, a lifelong lover of fashion who turned his passion into a Forest Hills institution.

Originally from the Dominican Republic, Jorge immigrated to the United States at age 13 and began working part-time in retail while earning his bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration.

After completing his studies, Jorge joined Clappers, a renowned men’s boutique of the 1970s and 1980s, where he managed high-end Italian merchandise. During his twelve years there, he developed an expert understanding of fine Italian craftsmanship — from luxurious fabrics to the artistry behind tailored menswear — and gained invaluable buying experience.

In 1995, Jorge launched Anthony Men’s, named after his son, creating a boutique dedicated to European sophistication and personal service. As one of the store’s primary buyers, Jorge travels regularly to Italy to hand-select fabrics, designs, and collections that reflect the latest trends in European fashion. Each piece is thoughtfully chosen — often created in collaboration with manufacturers — ensuring every item at Anthony Men’s is distinctive, refined, and exclusive to the boutique.
